If it starts, runs, drives, stops, and passes emissions and safety inspections it's really all you need. Anything else would just unnecessarily prop up your need to be conceited or impress classmates who call themselves your friends.
At 16 anything that rolls that isn't yellow and black with flashing lights is better, and beats walking.
