Toyota Auris 2010 - Charging System Warning Light?

I got my new Toyota Auris on the 22nd December and it is only 3 days old. It worked fine at start however from 23rd December the warning light keeps comng up and on the trip computer it says 'CHARGING SYSTEM'. When I checked the book it dosen't say anything apart from this shows a malfunction in the charging system!?

Also the warning only appears when the car is stationary, when its being drived its fine.

I want to know what it means and what I now have to do.

If it's a brand new car, what you do is take it back to the dealer who sold you the car and tell them to put it right. It's still under warranty. It's also likely that any remedial action may be done on good will since the car is so new.

So it's new and under warranty. So you consult the dealer promptly, what else? It could only be an indication that the battery would like more reserves in this weather with all the demands on it, but still has plenty of power. You get this with Mercs. in the Winter too if they do not get longish runs.
