Default 1995 toyota corolla issues?
I recently purchased a 1995 toyota corolla from a friend and it had been sitting up for 5 months because he was in jail and I noticed that when you first start the vehicle and put it into any gear besides park that it would stall out and you would have to let it warm up for 20 or so minutes before it drove normally but I also noticed that it lagged a little when it was shifting (A/T) and that if you were to drive it above 65mph it would kind of stutter and feel sluggish and not want to climb any further. Any recommended tasks to go through or any idea on which part may be causing any of the issues? Friend said he put plugs/plug wires in not too long before the car was parked but I'm not totally trusting that that was the case. Thanks for your time.

When any vehicle sits parked for more than 2 months without being started a refresh is in order, take it to a service center that you trust and have them go over everything: fuel system flush, oil/filter, brakes etc. so you know all has been properly serviced. Unleaded fuel has a shelf life of about 3 months before it breaks down, sounds like contaminated gas based on your description.

I'm nice to see you trusted the guy in jail to have worked on your car. Strike one. But you have a Toyota now, Strike two, and it was owned by a jailbird, Strike three your out! --Call me Judge Judy, but I'd rather have a one owner Ford, than a defective pre-owned oriental car owned by a Jailbird.
