so you're safe. replace the belt and have a nice day.
though it wont be as easy as you think. do your water pump as well.even if it's good. once you get into it, you will realize you don't want to do it again for some time. been there, done this on mine.

there's a 90-95 4runner manual or a 93 pu manual(covers 90-95 years). pick your poison as you didn't specify what you're driving. the 3.0 ltr 3VZE V6 engine is the same for both.

uh, Kenneth, (and this is the first time i've had to point fingers at someone)
i wouldn't suggest to ppl that they need to tear down their motor just because *you* are unsure or can't verify an issue and at the same time try to discredit any input from others. that's not helping anyone. especially the OP.
and you're theories about why engines don't need valve clearances when T-belts/chains fail aren't correct.
