It depends. For the last 2 years my wife and I lived in the Mojave desert, so all highway miles, rarely below freezing temps, we *averaged* 40MPG (worst 36, best 45). We just moved to southern Oregon, lots of snow, almost all city driving, and we are averaging closer to 30MPG (I haven't tracked fuel efficiency long enough to have a good average: the distances we are driving are so trivial -- less than 10 miles per day -- that we only fill up every 3 or 4 weeks). Our Fit is a 2008 with a manual transmission. Oh, and I think the gas tank is 10 gallons, though we rarely let it go below 1/4 tank.
