Ive been looking over internet how to diagnose a GOOD or BAD EGR solenoid.































I have a 1993 nissa quest. the EGR solenoid is under the throtte body. Once I sprayed the throttle body with carb cleaner (the MAF is not there...) and was wondering if the EGR solenoid could be damaged through the small vaccumm hose?































How do I test a good or bad EGR solenoid with a multimeter? How much resistance should the solenoid be doing? What about the connector with the engine in ON (not start) position? 12 Volts?































HELP!!!! cant find a site that explains the proper diagnose

If the EGR solenoid is defective the ECM would produce a trouble code and the Check Engine light would display. I won't say it's impossible but I don't believe you could damage it with a solvent.































Buy or borrow an OBD scan tool and check for codes. The solenoid is controlled via the ECM and if it's not receiving feedback it will produce a code.
