2001 Toyota Corolla Transmission Problem?

Default 2001 Toyota Corolla Transmission Problem?
I just left the garage, where i was informed i have a bad transmission. MY car is 2001 Toyota Corolla with only 13,00 miles on it. This car was given to me by my aunt and is literally the little old lady car.















The said that the transmission housing around the output shaft is worn away. They showed me how loose the cv shaft was where it goes into the transmission. It seems very strange that a car with so little use could have such a problem. They say i need a 200 dollar transmission job. Any help would be great.

I miss typed it was a 2000 dollar transmission job. I just don't see how that could be worn out. They said something about a bearing in there two so maybe that is what is worn out, not the housing.

take it to a dealership for proper inspection. the independent shoppe might be trying to take advantage of you if you are female.































plus 200 bucks for a 'transmission job' sounds waaaay too cheap. they're probably trying to rip you off.

Something is wrong. Your garage is taking you. Even if the transmission were bad it would cost FAR more than $200.00 to fix. My guess is that they wish to line their pockets by taking advantage of you. Take it to a reputable Toyota dealer for inspection. If they find there is nothing wrong with the transmission, return to your previous garage and inform them that you will now proceed to ruin them by documenting what has occurred, and making it known for a 100 mile radius that they are a sham, and no one should do business with them. Assure them you will follow through. Defy them to stop you. Then say thank you, and leave. Proceed to ruin them with internet, local postings, reporting to the town, and better business bureau. Good luck. Garage men like them are scum, and deserve to be treated as such until their business fails under the strain of being crooked.

axel are supposes to have some play in them,they are trying to screw you over,take it to the dealer or tansmision shop
