Ugly, gas hog and unsafe. Even the new 2011 headlamps are said to be defective causing blind spots while driving over edges of steep hills as the lamps have a cut off shade inside to shield the ridiculously blinding light the new defective design gives. Acceleration problems too where the vehicle will not stop. Buyer beware.

Yes. Today we think of SUVs as being behemoths but the original vehicle that spawned the "Sport Utility Vehicle" name was the small Suzuki Samurai. (Others will claim it was something else and earlier cars can be grandfathered in, but the name didn't appear until the 1980s. I remember the hubbub surrounding the appearance of this vehicle that had been used on Japan's forest roads and was now on paved American Roads. Nobody knew what to make of it so it was called a "sport utility vehicle.") Sport as separate from classic utility vehicles like the Econoline van.
