Default I just bought a 89 toyota and I live in michigan. When I try to start the car it will...
...crank all day,? but it wont turn over unless I give it a boost. Then I go outside the next day, and it's fine, but the 3rd day I have to boost again so I took the battery to get it tested, and they said it was bad so I bought another one. when I took it home and put it in the car.it still just cranks, but won't turn over. Help!!!..p.s. my friend who I bought it from said the alternator was new.















It's a Corrolla.

Those are signs of weak ignition. Start with an ignition tune-up and see how it goes from there. I bet it will be reliable. If not, look into aftermarket high energy ignitions at your local auto supply stores.

What is the model of Toyota? I agree with the last answer put some new plugs and wires on it see what happens.Well that is the smaller of the 4 cylinder engines I believe 1.8 or 1.6. I had the 2.0 and ran it until the body fell apart so just try the plugs and wires and see if it works and if not let us know.
