The steering wheel of my corolla started moving. How do I fix it?
I parked and hit the curb recently. I didn't think much of it, but my steering wheel started moving shortly thereafter. I noticed when I was backing out that the steering wheel moved up and down a bit, which was troublesome when I had to make turns. Is there anything I can do or do I have to go to a mechanic? If I go to a mechanic would it be expensive to fix?
The wheel doesn't move by it self; it's just that if I move my hands a bit down when I turn, the wheel also moves down by a centimeter or so.
.... I just fixed it. I looked up the owner's manual and apparently there's a switch for tilting the wheel. It was loose, so I locked it back into place and all is good. I'll probably still visit the mechanic for an oil change but hopefully that'll be it.
