Default Toyota recall and Toyota dealers?
I received a safety recall notice concerning my Toyota stating that the ECM module may be defective. To contact the dealer and have him check the part and lot number of the ECM on my car to see if it needs replacement which should take about one hour to replace. Now the Dealer service guy is telling me that they need to check three or four different things to see which needs to be replaced.and that it will take at least three hours. One friend told me that he took his same model and year Toyota in for the same problem in Boston and it took them ten minutes to check the ECM numbers and thirty-five minutes to change it. I suspect some kind of scam or run around from this local dealer! May be I am paranoid but can I take my Toyota to a different Dealer than the one I bought the car from?

Any Toyota dealer can do the recall. Go to any dealer you wish....................&&&

Any Toyota Dealer.































They give you the 3-4 hr figure so you'll be happy and think the Dealer is wonderful when it really takes 1/2 hr; old ploy: "Over deliver, under promise."































PS: Only have the Toyota Dealer do all the sched maint & repairs. Esp oil-filer changes.

you can take it to any toyota dealer. my mother got a recall recently and they are keeping the car for 2 weeks!

If you haven't had your vehicle to a Toyota dealer for a while, they will want to complete any recalls issued for the vehicle. Dealers are different as some are good and others not so good. I drive 35 miles to have our trucks serviced when there is a dealer 3 miles away from my house.
