They sell rebuild kits for anything... unless you know what your doing you can really screw things up with a transmission. Now assuming its a manual transmission, a buddy of mine had a dead third gear in his eclipse from a bad synchro's, keep messing with it try shifting into third from 5 and all, usually you can line up the synchro's enough to get it in gear, but if third gear is something you desire you can get a new one with a big price tag, or a used tranny from the junk yard for about $100, find a 91 corolla in good condition and shift through all the gears first if you can get through all the gears its usually a good tranny... never trust the old clutch. just for the hell of it you can call around to local transmission shops to get an estimate usually you will find their number a bit ridiculous.
