Engine swap for 91 Toyota Celica GT?

Default Engine swap for 91 Toyota Celica GT?
I have a 91 Toyota Celica GT and i have a 5sfe 2.2L I4 automatic transmission.































I wanted to know if i could swap out the motor for a 3sfe which is an added 20HP but will it just be a drop in motor or will i need new motor mounts?

Just look for another 5SFE 2.2 and be done with it, they are different plants and you'll be creating headaches for yourself. If you are doing this just to pick on the car for fun leave it alone, there are other hobby cars out there that are more worthwhile.

Yes you could.































You could also drop in a 3S-GE, or a 3S-GTE































They are straight drop in engines, you wont need to change the mounts, but you'll have to take care of the wiring.















































If you are actually interested in the swap go to www.6gc.net and look around. I'm sure there's a forum for the 5th gen that you have too.
