Well technically you can put anything in it that you want it just might mean more modification under the hood. Things like new motor mounts and getting custom length driveshafts in order to hook the new transmition up to the old transfercase.

Like the other answer said, with the right amount of money, you can. However, if you have a 1982-1985 Celica, you already have the same engine used in the 1987 Toyota 4x4 Truck.
