It all depends on how much money you want to throw at it. It also depends on the kind of mileage you do: Highway mileage is much easier on a car than stop-and-go urban driving. Last year, I drove from Ottawa, Canada to Taos, New Mexico and back in 5 days. There really would have been no significant wear other than to the tires--and the driver.
