Default Why does my 08 corolla smell like hot glue?
My car smells like a hot glue gun when I drive it. It smells inside. It smells outside. Why does it smell like a hot glue gun? It does not smell like a hot glue gun when I am not driving it. Thank you for your help. Please let me know if my car is about to explode. That is a fear of mine. Should I not be driving it???

your parking brake might be on,















If thats not it I don't think anybody can give you a straight answer without an inspection. My friend's car smells like burning plastic when we accelerate hard. He's also got really worn down brakes. Might be related, might not be. Its a really old car.































I'd have a mechanic check it out.

There is a plastic bag or similar stuck on your exhaust.































Stick your head under the car, and have a look for some melted plastic.

you ran over a plastic bag and its melted on your exhaust,,nothing to worry about,it will burn itself off,,,if you get the smell even outside its that
