its supposted to stop when you hit the brakes. thats what its meant to do.

Some Toyotas are made in America, you must've gotten a bad one. I would take it back to get looked at. Unless you're an elderly person, then a Toyota that speeds up randomly like it's supposed to might kill you.

Check the vacuum booster on the power brakes for a leaking diaphragm.

If you mean the engines cuts of when you hit the brakes then the problem is that it's a Toyota. Trade it in for a domestic.

If you mean why does your car stops when you hit the brakes, it's probably because your car needs a tune up. If your question doesn't relate to this particular matter, then it's because what everyone else is saying - Your brakes were designed to stop the car.

You need to adjust your floor mat to resolve this problem. If your floor mat is not positioned under the brakes, they may cause your car to stop. Hope this helps.
