Default 1.4 toyota engine life expectancy?
how many miles or km would an average 1.4 vvti 2001 toyota corolla do.how many are on yours.

The 1.4 Toyota engine is a disposable throw away engine. They burn up when they get old, gel up with sludge and just lock up. As you know most toyota engines are infested with defects as well. I'd get rid of it before it lets you down on the highway. I Would recommend a Ford Focus. My 2001 Focus has 270,000 miles on it and is still used every day,with nothing more than oil changes and standard maintenance.

With full service history any modern engine treated with respect should last well in excess of 100,000 miles. Diesels last typically twice that mileage. Toyota make good, reliable engines, despite what the other 'knowledgeable' contributor said. I know which make I would put my money on between Ford and Toyota, and it starts with T.

There is no data available to calculate the life expectancy of these.















It will depend on so many factors some of which you can influence by servicing and maintenance and many that were set in stone when the engine was built.

Depends entirely on how it's driven and how it's looked after.















Rag it senseless and forget to service it and it'll be scrap after 40-50k miles, look after it and itll last 200-300k miles.

Being a Toyota don't expect long life, maybe 125,000 before major repairs.

We've owned Ford and Toyota. No contest, Toyota make much better engines.















As for life expectancy, short runs and irregular servicing will increase wear.















Longer runs and care with maintenance the engine should give very high mileage.















Unfortunately there is no short answer to your question.

there are those members who are on a personal crusade against toyota. so you have to look passed those ppl. statistcally they are one of the most reliable vehicles on the road.
