Default Is 150,000 miles on a 2002 Toyota Avalon excessive?
My wife is concerned that this car is selling for $6800 with such high mileage

if she concerned dont buy it...its 11 yrs old,150K its gona have issues..you get what you pay for..

That is 16,666 miles a year. WAY above national average! The average is around 12,000. Give or Take

My 97 Chevy blazer has 267000 and still running/shifting strong.

Too much mileage, too much money. Your paying $6800 for a car that is worn out. toyota fans love to tell you that a Toyota will run forever, if that's the case, why did the previous owner get rid of it? And the past decade Toyota has been riddled with untold defects. Your wife is right on this one. It's a Toyota!
