I would like to know how to convert a 2004 Toyota Prius to full gasoline?
I have a 2004 Toyota Prius cannot get any dealers to find problem with hybrid system. I have five other prius'. This one has 220,000 miles and I don't want to get rid of it. Dealer recommended we put a new motor and trans and I did. *Please do not answer telling me that its not worth it*
seems you have all the answers so i will NOT tell you its not worth it,,if you wish to spend 20,000 to 40,000 dollars on it.to turn it into a yaris good for you
It's a bit of a pain the hybrid motor's are integrated into the drive-line. You'd need to disconnect them and re-program the ECU to control the engine only. You'll probably have to buy a new ECU anyway. This is because the engine has no throttle cable and is controlled by the ECU.
Rip out the Prius powertrain and install a Camry powertrain. One can buy the front of a Camry wrecked in the back. You are ahead of your time because you want a counterfeit hybrid.
People want the status of a brand label so bad they buy a flea market Chinese fake.People want the status of a hybrid label so bad they will replace the expensive parts with a cheap fake.
Some people own fishing reels they never use since their job does not have vacations. They just like the status of exotic travel represented by the object. You have a Starfleet of Prius.
The smartest steal a brand name with a fake because the real thing is for fools.Dumping out the foolish parts of a hybrid is keeping the status without the expense.
I suggest asking this question in the Yahoo Prius Technical group. Be sure to state any codes that you have captured. Often the problem is very minor, such as replacing the 12V battery.
