Are HIDs illegal on 2003 Toyota Camry?

Default Are HIDs illegal on 2003 Toyota Camry?
I have a 2003 Toyota Camry and I want to put HIDS on it. I have read many reviews which say they are illegal but also read many that say they are not. I went to AutoZone and met someone who said they can put them on for me for $50, so I was wondering if they were illegal or not.

True HID kits *which cost around $300 because it's the real hid kits* are not illegal. BUT you will need to adjust your headlamps so the light is pointing down, not forward, blinding people in front of you.

hids are technically illegal in any car that didnt roll out of the factory with them































but people usually dont get stopped unless there dark blue or some odd color or really blinding everyone

Its illegal to modify your headlights, so any aftermarket HID system is illegal to install and use on a road going vehicle.































You could install them and submit your new headlamp design for approval, but nobody would actually go through all that trouble, so they are illegal.































Its like splitting lanes on a motorcycle in NYC, its illegal, but nobody cares... as long as you arnt obknoxious about it...so Dont get blue, purple or green HIDs and you will be fine.
