Default 2000 Toyota Celica GTS engine problems?
Hello i have a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS 6spd and the Check engine light came on and my friend has a 2000 Celica GT 5spd and we raced and he kept pulling away like my car wasnt getting enough power what could this possibly be because having 40 more hp over him i should have just been able to pull away but i couldnt so if you have any ideas on what the problem might be please let me know thanx

HP only determines your top speed.































Also, the 1ZZ-FE has a wider powerband than the 2ZZ-GE. 2ZZ's are abysmal when it comes to torque and only have power between 6800 and 7600rpm. Even a 'torqueless wonder' 86-88 non-turbo RX-7 will move quicker than your Celica































Go get the code(s) read at autozone. If I were to guess, $100 says your o2 sensor needs replaced.

FYI. Street racing is stupid.































-Pull the codes for the check engine light. Your not getting full power cause your ecu is in 'limp' mode.
