Default Possible problem with my Toyota Yaris?
I have a 2008 Toyota Yaris and live in MN. My "brake" and "ABS" lights came on and remained on for 2 days on my dash, then went away. I had no braking problems or issues and the parking brake seems to work just fine. Is it possible that a sensor got dirty over the winter, being it hasn't been washed in a while?

I have a toyota yaris too, same year. I live in Ms, I haven't have a problem with my brakes or my dash lights showing there is a problem. Maybe you should take it for a tune up, or take it to an auto zone and explain to them what happened. They will tell you. Hope your yaris is ok! Lol

I would look to see if one of the abs sensors is loose. You can find the by the brake calipers. There will be a wire comming down off of them with a connection to another wire. See if that connection is loose. If they aren't I wouldn't worry about it.

snow or ice build up causing false reading but if problem persists seek use of scan tool

Bring it into the dealership. Hopefully you still have a warranty on it. My brothers corolla was having performance problems and his dash warning lights would light up once and while. He needed his ecu reflashed. Also in MN too.

make sure you have not gone below ( or right at) the minimum brake fluid level in your reservoir, it has a sensor that will cause your brake light to activate on your dash panel.....your ABS Light could be a bad sensor or a temporary malfunction due to low brake pressure again caused by a low fluid level
