Default Does any one know why my brakes on a 1996 Toyota Corolla would cause my starter to go out too?
I was driving home and could not stop my car. I was told my master booster went out. But at the same time my starter jammed up and I have been told I need a new Starter as well. Does this make sense to anyone?

Nope. They are completely un-related systems.































It might just be a weird coincidence.































Are you sure the starter is jammed or is the mechanic just telling you that to get more money?































If you are thinking you are getting screwed, you probably are. Call another shop and see if they will tow it to their place for free so they can give you and estimate on the work.

I'd say just a coincidence, judging by your car's age. My S10 ('95) did the same type of stuff. I replaced the alternator and the differential cover started leaking. Replaced the cover and the brake lines started leaking.
