Should I purchase a pre-owned Toyota Sienna XLE?

I've been wanting a toyota xle for sometime now for me and the three kids, but have been doing the same Honda versus Toyota thing like most people, not sure who to go with. Anyone who has Sienna please tell me if you were happy with your purchase and why.

Also I'm not crazy about their NEW 2011 sienna as the interior doesn't look as nice as previous models.

I don't mean to bash Toyota, however if you compare the Toyota Sienna with the Honda Odyssey, the interior of the Odyssey wins hands down, they have made it with a great interior and very comfortable and roomy. The Sienna is still a good vehicle and is available with a V6 3.5L engine which it shares with the Camry.

Toyota, Toyota, Toyota. Have owned them for many years very cost efficient never had one problem even through all this recall blah, blah, blah still standing behind them. Have had 3 so far and wouldn't consider looking else wear. Just breaks, oil, tires and good to go and I am big on maintaining my vehicles. Hope this helps, interiors are not everything especially if you are putting a lot of cost into fixing the outside, no good.

Obviously Flaming Raven miss the memo about issues with the Honda Odyssey. I would recommend you check that one out also. All cars have their Achille's Heel. Some are more pronounced than others. There isn't a perfect vehicle but the Sienna and Odyssey both rank right up there with the best of them and you won't find a more reliable minivan than either of those two. It all boils down to pereference. The Ody handles better and will put a smile on your face on a winding road; The Sienna rides smoother and a little quieter (Lexus-like). You choose.

You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here - carquotes.fateback.com

Get a Sienna. Bullet proof motor and tranny. Honda Odysseys may be prettier but a ton of transmission problems.

I see Honda Odysseys come in for tranmission replacement all the time.
