91 toyota previa rattling on idle and acceleration?

Default 91 toyota previa rattling on idle and acceleration?
keeps rattling until about the 3rd gear i belive then stops, but as soon as i come to a red light or sumthing it rattles big time, very annoying.. someone please help lol

One of the most common causes of rattles in most modern cars is the catalytic converter heat shield. It breaks loose and rattles loudly. Some people just remove them and avoid parking in tall grass (a fire in Arcosanti, Arizona, that destroyed a bunch of cars was blamed on a catalytic converter before the shields were standard). Any muffler shop can verify if your shield is loose and weld it back down for a very reasonable fee.

The Previa also has a SAD shaft that has couplings that wear out and rattle. Since it is a mid engine design there is a coupling and shaft that extend forward from the harmonic balancer to a pulley up front where the accessories such as the A/C compressor are.































SAD stands for separated accessory drive or supplemental accessory drive.
