THIS is not one of those things were you just slap a few bearings in and go on down the road. If the bottom end of the engine is worn out Then in all likly hood the rest of it is too. Slapping band aids, on an old engine, never works. Its best to start with a fresh engine and this way you know what you have. I have tried doing this, and yes, I boutht some time, because the mechanic said there was wear on the crank, but it would be ok for a while. Well 18 months or so later, both front and rear main seals started leaking about the same time, so now the top end was all rebuilt, the bottom end had all new bearings, And the oil was squirting out the two main seals, so you get a choice Slap more band aids on a high mileage motor spend 10 bucks a week in oil ,, OR do the wise thing, and have the whole engine rebuilt the right way
