Are the batterires in the Prius realy a big problem?

Default Are the batterires in the Prius realy a big problem?
I'm still interested in one but my dad is doing everything he can to talk me out of it. He heard something about the batteries needing to be replaced. I have not seen this mentioned on any of the many review sites I have looked through. Consumer reports does not say anything about it either.































Is this really a big problem, or is my dad over reacting? At about what year does this happen? How much does it cost?

From what I've heard they cost 3K and above new. Plus they are not good for the environment.

if there was a big problem with them, there wouldnt be a lot of them on the road. besides, i think theres a 10 year dealer warranty on the batteries... i could be wrong on that though, i think i heard that somewhere.
