Default '09 Camry. 37000 miles. Check engine light just now came on.?
Any suggestions as to what the problem might be? I have had all of the scheduled maintenance done.















Gas cap on tight. Took it to the dealer. Said something about a "cold start." I asked for "worst case scenario" and "best case scenario." Didn't get much of an answer. Have to bring it back for further exploration in the am.

It could literally be anything, check to make sure the Gas-cap is all the way on, if it isnt that i would just take it too the dealership, im assuming it is still under warranty.

You can have the code read for free at the local Autozone or Advanced Auto parts store.

Spend $50 on an OBDII reader. It will pay for itself the first time you use it and you won't have to guess.















Check the gas cap first. Loose ones are a major cause of the light.

Probably an oxygen sensor, take it to the dealer, have them plug it up

You don`t have to panic, `Check Engine` light is not so serious you can imagine. It can be a minor problem or just random, especially if you have a well-maintained car like yours. If the `Check Engine` light flash, it must be more serious. But if the `Check Engine` light came on your dash, you can get your car checked and i know some garage can fix the `Check Engine` problem for low cost (less than 100$). Hope it help you.
