Why is the accelerator cable on my 92 Celica still sticking.?

Default Why is the accelerator cable on my 92 Celica still sticking.?
I have clean the throttle body and have replace the cable not once but twice. It is starting to stick again. The cable is routed the say way as the Original one. I am at wits end as what to do now. Any suggestions

Poor design, the only permanent fix is to drive something NOT made by Toyota.

Try removing the cable from the throttle and working the throttle by hand. I have had quite a few throttle plates that stuck - mostly in carburetors - and I never succeeded in fixing any of them. I suspect the throttle pivot rod (or whatever that thing that holds the butterfly is called) was bent in at least some cases. If the throttle itself is sticking you may be best off getting a replacement throttle body from a wrecking yard... or maybe you are slicker than I am and can get it working right.
