Default tie rod end replacement on 98 Toyota Camry V6 question?
On the 98 Toyota Camry V6 engine is true you must replaced the rack pinion to be able to replaced the tie rod, or you just replaced the tie rod end only without replacing the rack pinion?































It the job easy to do?

No - should NOT have to replace gear. The tie rod end should just screw right off of the tie rod. There is a jam nut that locks it in place. This also serves as the toe in adjustment. To adjust toe you loosen the jam nut and rotate the tie rod a little bit. The tie rod can also be taken loose at the steering gear. If you slide back the rubber boot there is a locking washer that has to be bent down and then the tie rod ball socket can be screwed out.
