94 corolla door handle won't work...?

I just bought a 94 corolla and I am having problems with the doors. The person who owned the car before me broke both passengers side exterior door handles and the passenger side front interior door handle. The drivers side doors are fine...well, were fine. After I got the car home, I went to get out and all of a sudden the driver's side front interior door handle wouldn't open the door. Today I figured out what the problem was. The metal rod that connects the handle to the door latch won't stay connected to the latch. It keeps slipping out. I would like to be able to fix it myself but I'm out of ideas. The latch itself seems to be fine it's just the place where the metal rod connected the handle to the latch that seems to be broken. Do I have to buy a new latch or can I fix it myself and how would I go about doing that?

bty...I already know how to fix the exterior door handles it's just the door latch that's giving me grief.

There should be a plastic clip that holds the rod into the latch. The arm where the rod goes should have a hole in it for the rod. The plastic clip snaps into the hole first, and then the rod is inserted into the hole in the clip. Once the rod is in the clip, there is an arm on the clip that snaps over the rod to hold it in place. You should be able to get another clip at an auto parts store or from a Toyota dealer.

If any part of the arm that holds the rod is broken you will need to buy a new latch.
