I have a 2003 Camry with stock 15' wheels. Every few days I have to put air in my tires and its getting worse. I bought the car brand new and the Toyota dealership put several sets of tires on it blaming the tires. Later I found out it was the wheel that was flaking. Is there any way to fix this or should i just buy new wheels?
Buy new wheels. You can TRY to have a mechanic bead seal your tires but I know he'll say that it isnt a guarenteed fix and won't fix them when they start leaking again. And for good reason. Bad rims are a pain to deal with and never really stop leaking all the way.
since your aluminum wheels are flaking, that also means the rim that the tire bead sets in is corroding. you'll need to grind off the corrosion and clean up the tire bead to prevent the tires from leaking.
