that install will cost more than that car is worth/figure engine has to be completely rebuilt to handle the blow/head redone and cam/fuel pumps/complete exhaust and cat conv /computer system and trans wont handle it/better off finding a car with the factory set up and taking that 5 grand or so and put it as down payment/that camry is designed for economy only

Anyways, unless you're crazy about keeping your Camry there is no reason to try to add a turbo. To do it properly you're not going to be able to use your original engine. After the engine swap you've got to realize that if you're making substantially more power you're going to need a new transmission that can handle that power. Basically, the idea is not to make a non-turbo car into a turbo car. It's much cheaper to actually start out with a sporty car.

A turbo basically works by using the exhaust flow gases to spin a turbine which in turn compresses the intake air-charge to allow more air to be squeezed into the cylinder. This, allows the combustion charge to be more explosive which means more power.































The installation of a turbo is anything but simple however. A lot of different things need to be done to make sure the additional power is created safely and reliably. It will easily cost several thousands of dollars and take a few days to install and set-up properly. It is also not something that can be done by the average shade-tree mechanic.
