How do I check the Transmission fluid on a 2006 Toyota Tacoma?

I have just searched and searched for the dipstick and I simply can't see it. Can anyone describe where i find it or better yet direct me to a picture?

"Locate the transmission dipstick. This can be in a limited amount of places, depending on what size motor is in the Tacoma. Most often it has a red handle in contrast to the yellow handle of the engine oil dipstick. Often, the transmission dipstick is located between the firewall and the engine block on the right side near the center. Unlike some vehicles, it shouldn't be too hard to locate."

There is no dip stick to find. There are two plugs on the right side of the trans you need to remove the plugs and put trans fluid in the top plug until it comes out the bottom plug. Then you know it is full. Dumb I know but true.

Your Tacoma transmission maybe a closed system. Meaning it may not have a trans dipstick. The Toyota dealership or ther transmission professional may be able to assist you with checking the levels.

The 2nd gen 2005+ uses WS (World Standard) transmission fluid. It is a sealed system.
