Default Toyota Tundra 2008 V6 question?
Can a Tundra V6 4.0l 08 model, tow a car on the trailer? I need to know some limits for the truck. Thanks!!

Yes it can tow a car on a trailer. To be safe though, it really depends on the model of V6 Tundra you have - regular or double cab, the type of trailer, weight of towed vehicle, class of hitch, additional payload, etc.. Also, will it be flat towing or through hills as your engine and brakes are worked heavily on hills.































Spec wise, the regular cab has a 5100 lbs max tow capacity and the double cab has 4800 lbs. The links below provide the information you will need to tow safely.

This is going to be a problem for that truck. You may do OK on flat ground, but grades are going to strain the drive train.































I had a '02Tundra V8 that would struggle pulling a loaded trailer up hills of ANY size.































Make DANGED sure the trailer brakes work, or you're likely to crash if you have to make an emergency stop without them.































ALSO, if this truck is not equipped with the factory tow package, make sure to lock out the O/D when towing, or you'll be looking at a 1700. dollar or more trans rebuild (been there. Done that)
