to add,
if the bat/alt check good....
then,,,
just to make sure, pull a plug, put the boot back on it, ground it to the block, turned the motor over and got no spark?
--------
do this, engine stone cold.
coil is located on the left fender well, near the fuse block.
measure coil primary resistance between the ignition coil terminals.
3S-FE engine-0.38-0.46 ohms
2VZ-FE engine-0.41-0.50 ohms
measure coil secondary resistance between the ignition coil terminals and the distributor cap high tension lead terminals
3S-FE engine 7.7-10.4 kilohms
2VZ-FE engine-10.2-13.8 kilohms
if that checks good, it's the ignitor or pu coil in the distributor. don't have any testing info on that. thinking they run bout ten bucks or so.
there is a FREE online only manual for your vehicle. it can be found here,
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/homePage.jsp
sign up, plug in vehicle info, and go to "repair info".
FYI,
it should be noted that any ohms tests performed on a coil is never definitive. coils can ohm out good testing cold on the bench and still break down when hot. heat effects resistance, so this can never be check out hot. so...........
