Default Problems with my Toyota rav4?
hey my 98 Toyota rav4 just learned a new trick. when i press the brake peddle the right turn single lights up. it doesn't flash just lights up. then when i turn the right turn single on the brake lights flash. any ideas as to what would cause this to happen and how to go about fixing it. any help would be great.

Typical Toyota gas pedal issue except your is doing this instead of getting stuck wide open. That might be next though. Take it to an automotive electrical expert. Now that you know for sure you have gas pedal problems with it the ONLY safe thing to do is to sell your Toyota and get something American that's safer......

Was anyone replacing your brake light bulbs or turn signal light bulbs? On the back of your light bulb inside of the tail light or signal housing are wire harnesses or "plugs". They are easily unconnected by pulling them apart. Seems your mechanic or technician mixed these two up when putting everything back together. Its an easy fix, open up the housing, and switch the electrical harnesses. Don't listen to the previous poster, save your money and time. Plus you'll feel better about yourself being able to fix this small problem on your own. DO NOT get rid or your '98 Rav4! Toyota was still producing the best quality cars then, and all of the safety issues and concerns started to arise in the 06+ models. I sold my 97 Tacoma last month with 265,000 miles on it and I miss it badly!
