The front pads usually go first and, again, depending on the driver, may last 30K miles or longer, and may be in need or replacement sooner.
Another thing that can affect brakes and rotors, is to make sure the wheel lugs are torqued to the correct spec's, as to tight can warp rotors and screw up pads and calipers.
