Default inconsistent fuel readings on gauge? replaced fuel pump 2000 Toyota Camry?
ive been having inconsistent readings on my fuel gauge this past month. It goes up and down as i drive (slightly and gradually), random times, nothing seems to trigger it. at first i replaced the fuel pump, which obviously came with the fuel sending unit attached, and the problem still persists. Anyone know whats wrong, and how i can fix it? i dont think its a leak considering it keeps on going back up.

Son of a... my Tahoe does the same thing. I haven't checked in to it but I kinda suspect it to be the gauge itself...I guess. IDK... that or sometime in between which I thought was only wires unless they could be the problem. Boy I hope someone else answers this besides me.

Had same problem on my 97 Tacoma. Did lots of research before I















did anything was getting a whole bunch of mixed messages but finally















I went to the local junkyard and they had a Instrument cluster off a 96















Tacoma before I bought it they let me rip mine out and put theres in















and guess what started working like a charm. Figured out that the gauge















needle was shot.
