I live in LA and i drive a lot. Ive been looking up what kind of tires to get but to be honest i dont even know what im looking for. I just want something quiet and will last long. It hardly ever rains here so thats not really a factor in my quest for new tires.
if anyone could give me any pointers or advice or even suggestions to what kind of tires to get it would be greatly appreciated!
Look at the size of your tire, the three numbers on the sidewall, and go to tirerack.com. They will have exactly what your looking for, and they will send it to the nearest shop near you for installation.
LE or LE V6? There is a difference in the tire size and therefore the options available.
For a 4-banger LE with the P195/70R14 90S tire size there are so many good options you could spend days looking at them all. The Kuhmo Solus KR-21 is a fine choice if you want an inexpensive and long wearing tire. The lack of severe weather where you live means this tires only average performance in rain and light snow won't be a big deal. The Pirelli P4 Four Season isn't much more money, is an excellent all-around performer and like the Kuhmo has very long wear. The Yokohama AVID TRZ and Goodyear Assurance Comfotread would fall into the same category and price point.
The brand is not all that important. Get the correct size for your car, and ask for tires that are guaranteed for 60-80K miles. Don't forget to have them electronically balanced for maximum mileage.
Most tire shops will rotate them free. ask them about that, and make sure you DO rotate them.
Your warranty is worthless if you run them at the wrong inflation or don't rotate.
