If you have it check your owners manual. If not it should be dextron 3.

Look for the fluid type imprinted on the ATF dipstick , it will be either dextron III merc or Type 4, using the wrong fluid will cause shifting problems. Other Option is to go to the auto zone website, type make and model and the site shows you everything you need for that particular model. Of course the best option always is, to check the manual. I changed the fluid for my dad's 00' camry and dextron III was what i used.

Just use OEM from the dealer. If you care that much you can join bobistheoilguy.com. It's a forum for the oil enthusiast. I use Mobil one or Redline.
