Car wont start on 94 corolla?

Default Car wont start on 94 corolla?
My battery is charged and my lights went dim then car died...I changed out the alternator and after trying to jump it off...it still won't start...it is a 1994 toyota corolla 1.6

If you take a medium length screwdriver and override the starter relay by contacting the points on the starter you should be able to see if the starter is the problem, if that is not the problem then take your batter over to pepboys or another store that can test the battery for you, you can charge the battery all you want but if the battery is not holding a charge, then it is worthless.

When you turn the key does the car crank or make clicking noises?















If it is clicking then bang the starter with a hammer to free up the brushes















and most likely will be able to start.
