yes. and it's safe if you also upgrade your tire wheel set up. you need a bigger foot print to be stable.
hp or torque is not a factor.
2"-3". i'd go 4". 1.5-2" can be done with a leveling kit in front and spacers in back. 3" kits are 4" up front and 3" spacers in back. just the way they are. 's why i say just go 4".
don't worry bout it. they've been making lift kits for a long time. if you get a *full* kit w/shocks, it will come with any drop brackets and spacers needed. they are virtually "plug and play" now days. save the alignment needed after install.
skyjacker, roughcountry, fabtec, rancho, and procomp. all good. even jcwhitney is good.
less options on 2wd kits is all. less manufacturers.
you can't get much more than 33-35 tires under there at 4" so no upgrades are needed on the brakes either.
