Most of the toyota family engines are inchangeable but since the MR2 was mid engine the bay is pretty small its in the back. Your best bet is to find the turbo charge model if you don't already have it. If you do and what more performance rebuild the engine for a bigger turbo Garret, HKS and whatever you have in the US market. Check the flow rating i.e 600hp doesn't mean it will make 600hp you have to modify your engine to that level its just its limit.
