Battery drain in 1997 Toyota Corolla what can cause this?

Default Battery drain in 1997 Toyota Corolla what can cause this?
My friend has a 1997 Toyota Corolla and his battery drains overnight. First the battery just died and he got a new battery then his battery light would come on and off. Now the battery light will stay on and the battery will drain over night like while he is at work. He has began unhooking the negative cable when he is not driving and then hooking it back up when he gets ready to leave. The battery and alternator have been checked and work fine. Any ideas?

In many cases, a current drain is caused by taillights or domelight/glove box light staying on or a bad cigarette lighter socket which people use to charge cell phones and can go bad over time or a poorly installed aftermarket radio,































If the battery light is staying on, he may have other wiring issues or a bad alternator ...even new rebuilt ones may be defective....it might be better to have a shop check it out.
