can a bad or loose torque converted or a bad transmission make your vehicle to go faster in slower at highway speed while giving the same amount of pressure to the gas pedal another words like engine surging at highway speed?































If not what you think is wrong?































1998 Toyota Camry v6 146k,miles















I cut off the catalytic because the engine was light was on, but before this it had this problem

No, if your torque convertor was bad your vehicle would have a hard time getting anywhere. The surging your experiencing can be caused from a lot of things and its hard to narrow that down without looking at the vehicle. My suggestion if a check engine light isn't on it will come on at some point. when that does happen you will have a idea whats going on and how to address it. Im not saying its a good idea or a safe idea at best to continue to drive it i would like to see anyone get into a accident. Your best bet is to take it to your local mechanic and see what they can come up with.

Well, if you're the type person who gets out a hacksaw and starts cutting off things that don't work right, there's NO TELLING what could be wrong here, but I suggest checking the trans fluid level and color first. A fluid and filter change may do the trick.
