I want a replacement valet key for my Toyota Solara. Where can I get one?

I have a 2002 Solara, have two master keys, and am interested in getting a valet key (don't know what happened to the original). I've called around, did research online, and here's what I've discovered:

Local Toyota dealerships in Los Angeles charge anywhere from $150 to $250 for a replacement key.

The best quote I've received is $49 for the valet key, with cutting, plus $115 to program it. The places online that sell blank transponder keys don't have the valet key. Here's what I'm thinking. I can buy the valet key, then try programming it myself. I found these instructions. Does this work? Thanks.

The valet key part # is 89786-60050.

generally a valet key is a normal key without the programming.......which means u can simply cut a normal blank and it should work.......

The key itself is the same, although by convention gray keys are used for valet keys so you can tell the difference. The valet key is programmed into the car differently - use the same instructions but press the accelerator only 4 times and the brake only 5 times. Obviously it has to be programmed in somehow or the valet can't start your car; the difference is that the valet programming puts the key into a list that does not allow more keys to be programmed on its authority. The valet key is also cut differently so it will not open the trunk or glove box - that is a trick a locksmith may or may not be able to pull off.

The second source is one for the key blank, although they seem to be out of stock right now. I have used them before and been satisfied but they aren't the only fish in the sea.
