Default Toyota Tundra 2004 only getting 11.25 mpg. Why?
This vehicle is getting 11.25 mpg mixed driving. I believe it should be getting at least 13 or 14 mixed driving. Any ideas? It has a 4.7 V8 with 127K. It was just purchased about three or four weeks ago, and it's ostensibly in great condition.

I would check all the basic tune up needs, see if something along those lines could be causing a mpg drop.

I have a 2000 and if you keep the MAS clean and the throttle body it will make a HUGE difference in gas mileage, Also check your tire pressures, Most folks make the mistake of upgrading to LT tires in place of P tires but use the same air pressures as the door sill indicates and that's wrong.































I average around 16mpg around town but I'm a 2 wheel drive and that's on the summer blended gas the winter blend yields me around 13mpg.

The 13 or 14 thats listed for your truck by the National Highway something there just being a little generous but realistically your not going to get that gas mileage especially since its a V8. I have a 07 Tundra and it states that Im suppose to get 15 city and 18 Highway but realistically I get 12 or 13 city driving and about 21 on the Highway. City driving will use a lot of gas thats the beauty of a V8
