I had a old RAV4 and never had a problem with it. The only things I ever had to do was change the oil on time and did a tune but that was about it. I never had to do any major work to it at all. Owned it for about 7 years then sold it for a newer car. I did buy a used 2002 Jeep Cherokee in 2008 and I can tell you within the first year I had to replace both driver side and passenger side Window Regulators, Oil Gauge Sensor, Starter. Then after the first year Ive had problems with oil leaks, transmission slipping, one of the brake lights would not work even though I kept changing the bulb burnt wire probably, had to get the radiator fan motor replaced, and some relay cause I was having electrical problems. I was having so many that I actually traded it in at the ending of 2009 and got a Honda. Jeep was one of the worst cars I have ever bought and no pun intended but you can google it and you can find out for your self that they are horrible cars just horrible. If you dont want to have major problems do not buy a jeep. I hope that answered your question.
